Surviving decades of atrocities, numerous invasions and ephemeral changes; the land of Bharatvarsha, what we call today, India, stands still with 1.48 billion population, 2.612 US dollars GDP, 4th at global power index and military power and also the world’s largest democracy. But these are basic facts, which makes any Indian feel special about their country.
What makes India great is beyond the data and figures, with 28 states and 9 union territories and their rich and diverse cultural heritage brings forth the uniqueness and charm. With Himalayas stretching in the north, to desert in the west, hills in the east and a peninsula in the centre; the ethereal beauty makes India one of a kind.
After independence, the economic and social state of India was in shambles. It took a greater deal and effort by the government to formulate policies in accordance to population of the country at that time. India received unanimous support from USSR (then), did nuclear test twice which made India a growing superpower. India’s constant tension with its neighboring countries, Pakistan and China, put a pressure on the Indian military force, altogether. Despite all the battles, India continue to stay dominant, on the strategic and military front.
With the advent of globalization, Indian economy started to flourish, while the political sphere saw some major changes. It was in 2014, when BJP made its government in centre and the ruling party brought some policies to maintain stability in economic, social sector, likewise.
India’s foreign relations has touched the roof, it has close relations with almost every country; and the objective to stay non allied but can take actions when needed, is what makes now India, the most smoothest player in the arena. India is trying to become member of NATO, and achieve the apex position, to be a part of all the sensitive and serious issues.
It can be said that, India is at a higher spot on the global platform and an emerging superpower, that could possibly be the golden dream; from trying to free from the clutches of our colonizers to leading the world.
